It is an understatement to say that these are uncertain times. This new phantom threat of the coronavirus that has ravaged other countries is looming over our beloved community. Most recently, the CDA has recommended that all dentists see patients only for emergencies in efforts to curtail the strain placed on our healthcare system by this virus.
The doctors here at California Oral Surgery have been following the coronavirus pandemic for months and have been consulting our fellow medical professionals on what we can expect. More than ever, we have a duty to serve our community. All of the doctors at California Oral Surgery have been on call for life and death emergency services in the dental office and the hospital. Our practice has a history of not turning away emergencies, and we will strive to uphold that standard in these turbulent times.
We want to reassure you that we are still here for our patients, staff, referring providers, and community at large. Our doors will remain open, but we will make significant alterations to the practice. We have bolstered our stringent protocols by screening patients prior to their visit and having a zero-tolerance policy for sick patients or team members.
More significantly, we will follow the CDA recommendations and see only emergency patients for a period of 14 days. We will ensure that a doctor will be available during our normal business hours to provide emergency care to patients. In order to ensure our practice provides this uninterrupted safety net to the community, we will divide our practice into two teams: in the event that one of our doctors or team members become infected, the whole team does not need to be quarantined. However, this does mean that we will be slower to answer phones or provide the type of service that you may have been accustomed to with our practice. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
We wish everyone good luck and health during this pandemic. If there is anything that you need from our office, please give us a call. We will be of service to you just as we are during less turbulent times.
